The Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Ontario) (“FACL”) is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday June 14, 2017 at 6:00 pm ET, at 20 Toronto Street (Ontario Bar Association).
The meeting is open to all FACL Ontario members as well as other persons who may be interested in joining FACL Ontario. Friends and colleagues are welcome to attend. It will be an opportunity to re-connect and learn about FACL Ontario’s initiatives in the past year, our plans going forward, and to cast your vote for new FACL Ontario directors.
FACL Ontario members interested in applying for a director position should send a short statement of interest (no more than 250 words), as well as a copy of their curriculum vitae to the Nominations Committee at president@facl.ca by Friday, April 28 at 5:00 pm EST. Applicants should identify in their 250 word statement those executive or committee positions that they may be interested in, if successful elected to the board. The Nominations Committee will assess the applications and selected candidates will be included in the slate presented for voting at the AGM.
Those applying for a director position should be prepared to commit at least 10 hours per month to both attend at events and attend to the work required of the position. All directors are expected to actively participate in at least one committee.
FACL Ontario will be electing a number of directors at the Annual General Meeting.
