More questions? Please see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below.
Q: How do I sign up as a mentor or mentee?
A: Fill out the Google forms above to the best of your ability and we will match you with a compatible mentor / mentee.
Q: Who is defined as a mentor or mentee?
A: Our mentorship program has a "choose your own adventure" format - it is fluid and tailored to you. Are you seeking to be mentored? Sign up as a mentee, and vice versa. Our program allows you to sign up as both a mentor and a mentee.
Q: How does the mentorship program work?
A: In November 2020, we paired more than 200+ applicants for our program using compatibility as our key metric. Over the course of one year, we will monitor our participants on a monthly basis. Also, we will accept fresh applicants on a rolling basis for our next matching cycle: February 2021.
Q: I missed the deadline for your November pairing cycle, but still applied using the Google form. What are the next steps?
A: Thank you for completing an application. Your application is automatically stored in our database. We will reach out to you in February 2021 when we announce the launch of our next matching cycle. We recommend that you sign up as a FACL member and stay tuned to our regular mentorship events. Mentorship is $50 per year for lawyers and FREE for students: https://on.facl.ca/register/.
Q: I submitted a Google form, but my information has changed. What should I do?
A: Please complete a new form and we will use the most recent form.
Q: How do you ensure a high quality mentorship program?
A: We use mentorship guides for our mentors and mentees to follow during the program. We regularly check in our mentors and mentees and create conversation prompts.
