Law Society Working Group Releases Strategies to Address Issues of Systemic Racism in the Legal Profession Report

On Monday September 19, 2016, the Challenges Faced by Racialized Licencees Working Group of the Law Society of Upper Canada released its final report, titled “Working Together for Change: Strategies to Address Issues of Systemic Racism in the Legal Professions”. FACL Ontario commends the Law Society of Upper Canada preparation of recommendations on this important issue. We look forward to reviewing this report and providing comments.

The Law Society welcomes comments from the profession and the public by November 14, 2016. FACL Ontario encourages all members to review the report, provide comments directly to the Law Society, and write Law Society benchers to support the report at Convocation in December.
